“Let me be clear: The Senate Border Bill will NOT receive a vote in the House. Here’s what the people pushing this ‘deal’ aren’t telling you: It accepts 5,000 illegal immigrants a day and gives automatic work permits to asylum recipients — a magnet for more illegal immigration,” Scalise wrote in a post on X Sunday night".
"Alongside border security, the bill includes aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.
Johnson has offered up a separate Israel aid bill, without border security or aid to the other countries, for the House of Representatives to consider".
One of Biden’s campaign national co-chairs, Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-TX), told Politico in an interview released on Sunday that she was 'not happy' over Biden’s talk about the border leading up to the text being released. "The 2.5 million encounters of migrants occurring at the U.S.-Mexico border in fiscal year (FY) 2023 represent a new historic high, topping the prior year’s record, as has been widely noted since the recent release of year-end government statistics. Less attention has been given, however, to the very significant change in migration patterns evident in the data, with migrants from beyond Mexico and northern Central America representing 51 percent of irregular arrivals at and between ports of entry—for the first time ever".

"The number of known or suspected terrorists, or anyone connected to one, entering the country illegally through the southern border is at an all-time high, that’s according to government data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
'We ought to be concerned about the high number of migrants that carry with them the intention of doing harm to us,' said legal expert, Dan Eaton, who has been following the migrant crisis closely.
The figures show that in fiscal year 2023, CBP arrested a total of 154 non-citizens on the government’s terrorist screening watchlist. 151 of those individuals were arrested along the southern border. The numbers are up from 98 in the last fiscal year".

"Migrant child labor benefits both under-the-table operations and global corporations, The Times found. In Los Angeles, children stitch 'Made in America' tags into J. Crew shirts. They bake dinner rolls sold at Walmart and Target, process milk used in Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and help debone chicken sold at Whole Foods. As recently as the fall, middle-schoolers made Fruit of the Loom socks in Alabama. In Michigan, children make auto parts used by Ford and General Motors.
The number of unaccompanied minors entering the United States climbed to a high of 130,000 last year (2022) — three times what it was five years earlier".

"A study predicts nearly 60 percent of unaccompanied minors crossing the border have been caught by cartels and are being forced into child pornography and drug trafficking.
Over my five trips to the border, I have seen children as young as two months old being smuggled by coyotes across the Rio Grande. U.S. Citizens
"These are people who were either born in the U.S. or who have become "naturalized" after three or five years as permanent residents. These citizens can never be deported, unless the citizenship was obtained through fraud. You can work legally and receive any public benefits you qualify for. In addition, you can petition for the legal status of your spouse, child, parent or sibling.
Permanent or Conditional Residents
a) Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) are those who have a "green card". A green card holder, or lawful permanent resident, is someone who has been granted authorization to live and work in the United States on a permanent basis.
Non-Immigrants
People who fall into this category are in the country legally, but only on a temporary basis. Examples include:
 students (F-1 visa)
business visitors or tourists (B1/B2 visas)
 fiancées (K-1 visa)
 individuals granted temporary protected status.
In general, recipients of these visas don't intend to immigrate. If the application is fraudulent or you overstay or otherwise violate the terms of the visa, your legal status will change to undocumented
Undocumented
People who are in the country without permission, or illegally, are called undocumented. This means they do not have permission to live in the U.S. They are not authorized to work and they have no access to public benefits like health care or a driver's license.
Any person who is undocumented runs the risk of being deported or having deportation proceedings started against them at any time".
